Looking for advice. we have a stand alone case study webflow instance and want to duplicate 4-5 times a month and use the PW to gate for clients. Customer support will not give us an answer on the right plan and keeps using webflow-type wording, and we just need advice on the best plan. I dont’ want to pay 29.00 a month for each one. we just custom each first page to the client.
Let me verify- you’re trying to create multiple separate sites, roughly 4-5 per month which;
- Has a customized homepage for each client
- Each has a password for client access
There are at least 4 very different directions you can go here, depending on what you need;
The key questions I have are-
- Are you purchasing custom domains for each? Or using subdomains like
companyA.mysite.comor are staging domains likecompanyA.mysite.comadequate? - Is it ok to make it a sub-path instead, e.g.
www.mysite.com/companyA? - Must the passwords be different for each site?
- How secure does the password need to be- just a marketing deterrent or do you need real security here?
- Are you using the CMS for this site?
Cheapest path is usually one CMS site with folders or subpaths, then password-protect each client section. Had to set this up for a client portal build , way more scalable than duplicating projects and paying per-site hosting.
