I’m trying to make the background image animate slowly but I want it to repeat. Looks like it starts leaving a white gap on the right side.

The correct tool would be a background video for this.
The hacky method would be to extend the image width by 10-20 times the original width in your image editor, and set background to cover, position 0px 50%.
