Background color visible-transparency vid on Safari with webm file

Hi team,

I have a WEBM animation file that I want to appear in my site’s hero section. It has a transparent background. I tried to upload it as a background vid with Embed code but it had a black background instead of transparent in Safari only.

Actually it’s working on Chrome and others also but not in Safari. I’m attaching the screenshots.

In Chrome:

In Safari:

You migth try setting the background color (in your design tool) to any color at 1% opacity.

I’m not positive this will work, but it’s how I’ve fixed gradient issues in Safari in the past.

Good luck!

Thank you DuncanHamra :)

It’s not working, I tried to give it any color, but it won’t be working! Can anyone help! @DuncanHamra

I asked Claude (the AI) and it says Safari has historically had trouble with this file format. How attached to WEBM are you? Would you consider using a Lottie file, GIF, or MP4 file instead?
