Auto-play on hover not working sometimes

Hi all,

I have used some code to achieve a hover->hide cover image->auto-play video interaction. It works most of the time, but sometimes on the Webflow-domain live pages(Home A - Filmax - Webflow HTML website template), the video gets stuck after a few seconds of playing.

This is quite frustrating since the code obviously works. Could this be a bandwidth problem or an internet issue on the viewer’s end?

It looks like the video is being paused by chromium browser to prevent unnecessary loading when not in view:

This could be because it’s triggered on a hover, but honestly it’s hard to say.

Google isn’t very fond of videos getting forcefully autoplayed overall, so it tries to pause it whenever possible.

I don’t have an exact solution to this, but I hope it pushes you are anyone else in the right direction!
