Background Vimeo video autoplay intermittently doesn't work

Hi

my website opens to an embedded vimeo background video. It should autoplay but only works around 50% of the time.

If i hit refresh, it’ll work most of the time, If i clear the cache on a refresh it seems to not work until i refresh again.

I have the issue on both chrome and safari.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think you might need to add autoplay=1 in your iframe code:

thanks for your reply. I was under the impression that this wasnt needed as it’s a background video and will autoplay, loop and mute because of that? It does seem to autoplay just not all the time for some reason.

Your test page works perfectly, thank you. It made me think that maybe there was something else on my hompage causing an issue. I had a mobile version of the video set to hidden which I’ve deleted and all seems to work now, so must have been some kind of conflict there.
