Apparently, here’s an option to create a new site with the template, but not an option to apply template to existing site. Is there a way to apply template to exisiting site?

There’s none. There’s no “theme” approach in Webflow.
You can bring your existing content to the new site, or copy paste some elements of the template to the old site. If you do that, try to copy and paste everything at once to get all the styles from the new site to the old site at once. It could be a bit messy.
The clean way is bringing the content to the new site, or to manually redesign the old site.
@vincent if that’s true, then why bother creating a template in the first place if I can’t simply re-use it or re-apply it to an existing site? What function do templates serve?
They serve as a starting point for a new site build.
Good for sites on a budget or tight deadline.
Re-templating a site is arduous, but it can be done.
