I guess its a bug or just missing future. I have CMS hosting and custom domain added. Today I had my site unpublished and than just published it on custom domain. After that I added new content editor, my client. The client got an email to active his account. The link took him on webflow subdomain and showed 404 error because the site is published just on custom domain.

I agree with you. there should be some method to select which domain that you want to invite the user to edit from, instead of the email just pointing to the subdomain.
While the technical team takes a look at this, in the meantime can you leave the subdomain published for your editor/client to edit? There will be no problems with SEO as long as you have selected “Disable Subdomain Indexing” on the site SEO settings tab.
