YouTube element is not taking any YouTube links

Says “Invalid YouTube vi-deo link”.

I’ve tried youtu.be and youtube,com/watch links, heck, even youtube,com/embed ones, nothing seems to work. I don’t know what I’m missing… seems pretty straightforward to use. Same happens with the vi-deo element.

  • Tried links straight from the address bar (with https)
  • Tried without https
  • Tried without www

PS. Unrelated but this is the most random restriction I’ve ever seen in a community:

What is the exact link you’re trying to paste?
Embedly recognizes these URL schemes-

Yep, annoying but it was do to a thousands-a-day spam attack here a few months ago. It made the forum unusuable. We forum users adapt

Yea I’m getting this exact same problem too. Tried sending a request ticket with them but I can’t get past their AI bot, it’s stuck loading to infinity. Concerning.

@hawklexx What’s the exact link you’re trying to paste?

Trying to embed this to my website:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewRxmjm9A6s

I’ve also used https://youtu.be/ewRxmjm9A6s and have tried different videos, it’s just an issue with the YouTube/vi-deo embed itself.

Both the Youtube element and the Vi-deo element are working ok, I tried the full URL.
However I saw a long delay, like 30 secs on the paste before it reconciled the first time.
No errors though.

I’m unsure if the delay was cause by Embedly or something to do with the connection to Embedly, but if problems persist for you I’d definitely open a ticket with support.

I mentioned that I tried opening a ticket but the AI bot freezes up on me. It’s stuck loading everytime and it won’t let me submit.

In order to submit the ticket I have to wait for this to load, which it never does. Clicking “End Chat” just sends me back to the home page.

Interesting, I didn’t realize they’d removed the “Email support” option.
It’s likely the AI now info-gathers and then helps route requests to human agents when needed?

For me it’s loading, and interacting fine. It can take 20-30 sec to load, it looks like it’s doing a full scan of your site setup ( DNS records etc. ) as part of its boot process.

Try waiting longer, but they need a message explaining what it’s doing.

I don’t have any tickets to submit now but I’ll try the full process next time.
