Word rotation animation (words fade in/out in place)

I originally built this website from a Webflow template (Katix) that is no longer available. Somehow I messed up the word rotation on the home page.

The text “We help our clients” is intended to stay put. The phrases “lean in”/“be emphatic”/“find their angle”/“be bold” are all supposed to fade in then out, one at a time.

I have been able to get it back to where one phrase (“lean in”) fades in on Page Load with the “Main Word Rotation” animation I created. However, I can’t figure out how to stack the phrases on top of each other. When I try to set the phrase elements to “absolute”, everything in the Div Block collapses into one pile. And all 4 phrases have the “Main Word Rotation” animation assigned to them, but the others don’t fade in/out.

Right now there is a Content Wrap container (set to Flex), holding a Word Wrap container (set to Flex). This holds the 4 phrase elements with “H1 Display 1” names in the Navigator-- they have individual names in the ID field.

I would be so appreciative of any help anyone could provide. I’ve spent so much time on the Webflow AI and ChatGPT and just can’t get this resolved. Thank you in advance!

Always clone a new site based on a template before you edit anything. Keep that as a reference you can copy-paste from, especially because you’re going to delete a lot of stuff in your main site you’ll likely want later.

Unfortunately Webflow doesn’t have a Restore Backup as New Site feature… BUT if you need to get back to the original you can likely do this;

  • Clone your current site
  • Transfer any hosting plan to that clone, plus domain names, redirects, etc.
  • Restore the original one all the way back to backup v1, the very first backup that was automatically made. You should now have your reference site.

Since Katix is no longer available, along with its reference readonly view, You might contact Webflow support and see if they can get you a copy of it, or they may have a system way to do the “restore backup as a new site” for you.

@memetican THANK YOU! It never occurred to me that Webflow kept backups. Since I hadn’t made many other changes, I simply reverted to an older version where the rotation was working and then I will just redo my other edits. Thank you so much for that suggestion. Happy new year to you!
