I’m looking for a webflow template for a B2B SaaS website, but I want one with a fast page load time that’s built well (uses the latest Webflow techniques to build). Most of the templates I’m coming across are pretty slow, use older techniques to set up elements and pages.
Templates cannot contain script, so there aren’t many factors that can affect template performance. Look for simpler templates with lightweight media, no giant images, and judicious use of interactions.
If you’re building a SaaS, you’ll probably export the HTML anyway? So you can do further optimization there.
There are tons, but depends on whether you’re looking for the marketing pages on the SaaS site, or the actual admin console. They tend to be very different designs.
I’d think of them separately. Pick a nice template you like for the public portions of the site, and go nuts with Webflow.
Then for the internal pages where they’ll be doing real development, consider using a non-Webflow template designed for that purpose. Check Themeforest for a huge range of good ones, everything from plain HTML to React to Svelte, they cover a wide range of frameworks.
No different from any other SaaS you see. cloudflare.com is front-facing, dash.cloudflare.com is the SaaS app. webflow.com is front-facing, *.design.webflow.com is the designer. These are separate pieces of the system, built using different tech stacks, using different tools, and likely running on different servers.
I’d stick with that design pattern to keep life simple, and keep the system flexible.
Unless you’re doing a lot of programming on the public-facing site, Webflow sounds like a good fit there. For the app, where the devs want control over every bit of CSS and JS, I’d use a non-Webflow template instead.
Look for a Webflow template without ecom or membership capabilities. These features can’t be removed once switched on and they add a ton of drag.
You’ll also want to replace the Google font’s with WOFF2 fonts (or similar) and remove or replace any Webflow quick animations as these seriously slow down your site.
