Vertical Section Hover In/Out

Hey guys!
Just trying to figure out how to correctly create a hover effect to “vertical sections”.
Right now if you hover through each section, you’ll see that the section grows to 50% of VW and others shrink to 25% each (since there are 2 more vsections) BUT if you move your mouse faster through each vertical section a white space shows up.

So my question is, how would you fix it? So that no white space gets to show up.
