Stop YouTube video playing when closed (CMS modals)

I have a CMS collection of videos, each with a popup video. The popup + HTML embed video work well, but the video doesn’t stop playing when the popup is closed. I’m pretty sure the only way to do this is with some javascript, but I’m not sure… I’ve been trying all day and can’t figure out how to do it, thanks!
