Nav Bar Fade In Fade Out , Simple, right? not

Hi:
Newbie Webflower who is trying to find a replacement for Muse.
Good product, but very challenging to understand animation.
Can someone please give step by step on how to fade in nav bar after scrolling past hero image and fade out when scrolled up into hero image?
Yes, I know there’s a similar video out there but the snarky voice over artist goes way too fast and can’t understand how to do this.
Also trying to find how to stretch the nav bar to reach each side margin.
