My experience with Shopify Integration

Hi @radicalrooster. Like @Sprackhaus, I’m interested to know how you did this too, please

What was it you wanted to know, sorry?

Scroll up! We used the ‘Buy Buttons’ from Shopify and Custom Code containers in Shopify to link the two.

It’s great! You still get your shopping cart and can add quantities etc, but all the while still using Webflow!

To be honest I never got it to work! Just seemed whenever I changed a TRUE to FALSE nothing happened.

Interesting…

If you do a cmd+F/ctrl+F you might find (depending on the style of your button from Shopify) more than one section for the True and False settings.

I seem to remember when I first did this, I too couldn’t get it to work, but I had another look and realised I was changing the settings for another part of the button.

Why don’t you just put the same google tag manager container to both ends and you could easily track anything you want?

If you could elaborate how to do this? Because if your idea works it would solve many issues!

also experimenting with webflow/shopify, the lack of European payment providers (non credit card ones) is the deal breaker for using webflow ecommerce.

Several payment gateways can solve this quite easily…

Hi all…

I’m interested in this thread… some questions:

1). Why would you need to integrate Shopify? Doesn’t Webflow Ecommerce do everything Shopify does? If not… what doesn’t it do? What do you need shopify for? Why would you use this shopify ‘buy button?’ - Thanks guys!

2). There are a few apps on Shopify that I’d like to use… I’m guessing the ‘buy button’ implementation wouldn’t work… but maybe if I created a shopify ‘theme’ In Webflow and exported it to shopify I would be able to install some of the apps on Shopify?

  1. Has anyone tried to create a shopify theme in Udesly yet? Are there any limitations? Can you install shopify apps once you’ve moved it to shopify?

thanks guys!

Hello @JTL,
The Shopify buy button works great, in my opinion, mainly for two reasons. First, because you can integrate it with almost all the Shopify apps. Second, because it is only 9$/month. That is the cheapest option for ecommerce. Now Webflow’s ecommerce is great, their price is competitive with Shopify, but you can’t connect it to print on demand services like Printful or Printify. I think that would be a possibility on the future, but no certain date yet. I hope this helps to clarify some of your questions.

Hey man!

Thank you for this answer…

Some more questions sorry man!

  1. Doesn’t it take an EXTREMELY long time to add a buy button for EACH product? If you have 100 products you have to create a buy button for each one and copy / paste the codes over?

  2. How does CART work is it the same as Shopify’s?

  3. How does CHECKOUT work is it the same as Shopify’s?? Does it redirect you to a my-shopify.com or can you keep it on your own domain?

Same thing here!
I want to use the Shopify Buy Button with my store but there isn’t too much info regarding it

Does anyone know how (if it is possible) to have the user, when they press on checkout, for the Shopify drawer to show a full drawer (rather than the small drawer which doesn’t take up the whole page) - I mean the Shopify checkout page (how it doesn’t take up the whole screen), would it be possible for the checkout page to take up the space of the whole screen rather than the user having to set it to full screen?

By the way,
I think we should all go and vote on this and also personally email Webflow any concerns we have regarding the Shopify Buy Button, it will encourage Webflow to add in more ecommerce functionality.

Hello @JTL, and @alexanderaccounting,

So you can do dynamic embeds and use a collection to add multiple products. Now you will still have to input some info in your collection but it is not too much work. Here is a video on how to do it from the great @PixelGeek https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TAd5lVVnvQ. As for the checkout page, I only used the side checkout but I think you can modify that on the Shopify end. Here is how it looks

I hope this helps.

How do you create the “Cart” Button on Navigation?

Hello @TN_Thien_Tri,

Do you mean on Shopify? Shopify does it for you on a side bar, not on the navigation.

I see on your website the cart button is on navigation. How did you do that?

Hello @TN_Thien_Tri,

Do you mean this part?

That shows up automatically once you click on the add to cart button, and it is part of the embed button code that you get when you use the buy button on Shopify.

Hi, I am a real novice when it comes to the ecommerce side. I want to change my webflow site to have ecommerce but I want to use shopify as the Webflow ecommerce currently doesn’t have all the tools I need. My question is I want to design my products in webflow and simply add a “shopify buy button plugin” under the product that links to that item. I am wondering if that is possible??

Is it stupid to have both Webflow ecommerce upgrade and shopify if I am just using shopify??

Yep, there is an official tutorial on getting that setup here that should help out
