The best way to go is to hire a lawyer for a name search and a company registration 
As a single owner, the price would be around 1000$ or less. I live in Montreal and the laws/prices are pretty much the same!
Trust me, you really don’t want to do this step wrong… Ask a professional!
If you just want to do a name search, you can get the government to do it for you and get a certified proof that the name you want is legit. check here:
