Hello, I am a web design freelancer. I’m pretty new to Webflow and I’m still facing issues understanding what’s the optimal solution to manage client’s websites.
The method I was thinking of using was the following: I build my clients’ websites on my own workspace, then give them access to the editor once the website is ready to go live. If I understand correctly, I would then have to pay for the client’s hosting and bill them? Then, can I use this method with a free workspace plan? What would be the drawbacks of such a method and is it even the best way to do it? Lots of confusion.
Sure that’s one approach. You have billing responsibility, but setup, admin and oversight are much easier.
Unless you are building zero more sites, you’ll probably want to keep paying for a Freelancer workspace plan yourself.
The other option is to have the client setup their own Workspace, and invite you ( as a Freelancer/Agency workspace ), and then you can transfer the site, setup the plan, etc. That will give you most access you need ongoing, and they pay for the hosting directly.
