How to get really basic, image-only parallax scrolling effect?

Hi! I’m trying to get a parallax scrolling effect like this square space template, in which the image shifts vertical position a bit as the user scrolls. I can find tutorials on parallax scrolling but still can’t figure out how to hack it to make this effect.

Any pointers? Including pointers to tutorials?
