Do animations render when not in the viewport ? (page load)

Hi Everyone,

Was hoping someone with (much) better knowledge than me could fill me in on whether page load animations continue playing when not in view ? From what i can see online, most modern browsers try to minimise the rendering so presumably this means they don’t ?

As a bit of a continuation question, i have a sticky header section that has an animation that will always be in the viewport. Is there anyway that i can stop these animations from playing when scrolled past a certain point ?

Thanks for any advice !
