Custom Menu need 2nd click to back to normal interaction

I tried all possibilities to get rid from this annoying issue, but not get success at all.

i am attaching my read only link and Loom to get better idea, what’s my concern.

You can recreate this using an actual dropdown which has regular events for opening and closing. This way you are creating conflicts with different clicks
