I have an author created in CMS collections, however I can’t set this to be the author of any of our articles. The only options available are some random names that we haven’t created.
When building the site, Webflow CMS allows you to add random data on the database. It should be those and should be there so that builder can easily see the data on the page.
If site was built by someone else they should have just kept it as example/demo data. If you think those are random names then just delete them and add your actual data/names.
Where do I locate these custom names though? We only have one author in our CMS, yet the options for authors on articles are 3 names that we haven’t created, and that we can’t locate.
But I’m guessing there should be separate CMS collection for Author, if not it should be within the same CMS collection that you are looking into. Just edit the CMS collection and it should be manually enter as select options.
If you’ve setup a separate collection for your Authors, then you want to use that by linking to it from your articles collection ( probably a single-ref field )
Once you have that setup you can remove your options field from articles, that doesn’t seem useful to you.
