BG Video zooms in (glitches) on page load in Safari

I have a background video set to play on page load and it works most of the time but ‘sometimes’ in Safari it does a strange zoom in or glitch at the very start.

Here is a screen recording showing what happens:

You can see that at first, it loads fine, but the 2nd, 3rd and 4th time refreshing the page, it loads with the strange zoom/glitch.

My client is asking about this but I cannot figure out what is causing it.
