Background videos are being vertically cropped

I’m using the column feature to place three 1MB background videos in line next to each other. I want them to loop like gifs. I’m currently having two problems:

  1. the videos are closer to 9:16 yet they are getting cropped on the top and bottom and resemble something closer to a square. I’ve tried adjusting the height of each parent element with the only thing working being VH, which would create problems for responsiveness. Is there a smarter way i should be cuilding this section of content?

  2. Much smaller issue, but since we’re on the topic: two of the videos are set to loop, but don’t.

I’ve attached two screenshots—the image with the taller version of my videos is the desired outcome.
