Zero margin/padding on image but still empty space in column

Hello friends,
I have a problem filling a column (div) with an image, i.e. removing the white margin around the image.

The column and the image both have block layouts and 0 for margin and padding.

How do I make the image fill the column in width or height?

ps: I have double checked the image source itself. There is no white margin.

ps2: the problem disappears when I set the fill to none on the image.

Are you sure there isn’t an issue with the image? Have you tried cropping the image?

I haven’t tried that. But I looked at it in my browser (open image in new tab) and set the background of body to black: there was no white margin around the image.
