Wrong Search Results in Google (meta description)

Hello everyone,

This is a subject that has been raised by several people on the blog but I can’t seem to find any viable answers/solutions to my problem.

  1. I’ve changed the page meta descriptions in the designer

  2. I’ve modified the elements in the SEO section of the settings section

  3. I connected the Search Console and indexed the site pages

But I’m still having problems displaying the results (for several months now).

When I look at the search results I get the wrong meta descriptions, but when I go to the site and open the console I see the right meta descriptions.

Does anyone have any idea what’s wrong? Thank you very much for your help and don’t hesitate if you need any further information.

Hey Arthur,

Is the issue you’re having that what you put in the description field isn’t what shows up in the google result?

That’s normal - Google gets to decide what it puts there. Sometimes they’ll pick your description, other times they won’t.

From Google:

<meta name="description" content="A description of the page"> Use this tag to provide a short description of the page. In some situations, this description is used in the snippet shown in search results.
