I noticed why some of my projects were growing sluggish. It was the google map api key with map element in a symbol. I believe that is what’s causing designer interface to be clunky and slow.
When deleting google map element from projects, the designer became a lot more responsive to commands.
I would like to make the following suggestions for people who have observed sluggished Designer Performance.
Take a SCREENSHOT and crop the image, and save as png.
Delete the Google Map element and API key.
Replace your google map container / div with the image.
???
Profit from more time spent not waiting for designer to click on stuff.
Thanks for posting about this – definitely sounds odd.
I tried reproducing this behavior on my end but was unable to – can you share your Read-Only link, please?
Regarding performance, it is possible for the Webflow Designer UI to experience slowdowns — mainly on large sites or sites with many styles, pages, and / or complex data bindings.
The team is actively working now on some platform updates to monitor and improve the performance levels across the board but there are some things that can be done now that may help:
Delete any unused classes used on the site from the Style manager
