Webflow Search Results Not Working!

Suddenly, search results are not showing on my Webflow site. Previously, whenever I searched for content related to my site, it would appear in the search results. But for the last two days, it says ‘No matching results.’ Last year, this happened only if I restored my backup site. This time, I didn’t do anything, but it automatically stopped showing results. Similarly, last year, whenever this happened, it would show an option to manually index my site, and after a few hours, it would work. But now, that option has been removed, and I’m unable to find the manual indexing option. Can anyone help me fix this?

Here is my page URL: Search Results - Clappia
Site Read-only Link: Webflow - Clappia

@Vidhyut_Arumugam I was just searching how to fix a broken search page and I learned about the manual index feature. I’m new in Webflow so I don’t know where it used to be, but it’s here now:

I guess re-indexing solves the issue, but I’d like to know why did it break in the first place. If your index is updated everytime you publish your site, why does it break sometimes? Can we do something to prevent it?

Only support could help you resolve anything here, but here are some notes that might help.

Regarding indexing;

On an ongoing basis, we’ll update your search index to keep the content in your search engine up to date with the latest changes to your site. On the CMS Site plan, automatic reindexing takes place 72 hours after full-site publish. On the Business Site plan automatic reindexing takes place 12 hours after full-site publish. Single item publishing CMS items does not trigger automatic reindexing — a full-site publish is required.

Regarding “no results”;

If you’re searching for new content that hasn’t been indexed yet, you won’t see it in results. Also on occasion I’ve seen issues with Webflow’s upstream provider for the search service, and you may see “no results” while that provider is experiencing an outage.

Hi @memetican!

Yeah, this is probably something to handle with the support team.

I’ve started my research with the Webflow docs and I saw that part about index updates, but in my case the search was working before and just stopped. If it was just about index updates I’d be able to find older content, right? It’s good to know about the possible outages as well, but I don’t think it was the case, because the search started working again as soon as the index was manually rebuilt.

It’s happend before, so there’s probably something breaking my search index. I’ll contact the support team and let you guys know if anything relevant comes up.

Thanks!

@Hudsonafya Thank you so much for your help! The solution you provided worked perfectly. I really appreciate your assistance.
