I am curious regarding hosting overhead. What was the rationale for delivering Webflow’s interface via a browser and deciding to host everything yourselves? I think people may be confused because Adobe and, let’s say Macaw, are a downloadable program linked to an auto updater. Was it simply easier to develop the UI in chrome as a web application? I imagine trying to recreate a browser to work in would be no small task.
Though if it was a downloadable program with a monthly sub you wouldn’t have to host your customer’s work in progress and they could create as many projects / pages / sites as their hard drive allows. Anyway, just curious.
