The subdomain confusion

Hi,

I’m honestly wondering why Webflow allows you to set up another subdomain under an already concatenated domain. That makes no sense at all in my eyes.

When I set up a subdomain, I usually want to publish completely separate content from the main site under this domain. So I would like to do that, for example. Unfortunately, this is not possible because I cannot create a completely new page for the subdomain that functions like a separate subpage of my main page and is then only published as this page without affecting the main page.

Or am I wrong?
This makes absolutely no sense to me.

It does for people moving from an old domain to a new one. The old subdomain gets redirected. If you want to serve different content based on a subdomain then you either need to use a reverse proxy, or add a site plan for the subdomain, or self-host your project.
