Tap item to always open smoothly in the center of the screen

hi. this site by moritz petersen is awesome: moritz petersen

but i wonder how he managed to do the transition within the “projects“ section. if you tap on a project, there’s a smooth animation from the preview-tile becoming the first part of something like a detail-sheet.

any idea how to realize this animation?
