Stripe custom variable api

Hello all,

Has anyone ever been able to integrate a stripe custom variable api to a form for end-customer to input specified amount?

for example: donations, etc

i’m thinking this is a similar approach likened to the mailchimp integration with minor variation.

would love to know how doable this is.

Cheers!

Hi @andreswaby, thanks for your post.

I am not 100% sure how you want the integration to work, but this post may offer some insights provided by another community member: [TUTORIAL] STRIPE CHECKOUT - I made it work!

I hope this helps!

thanks @cyberdave; however they weren’t able to achieve this either.

must find a solution— I’m headed off on an adventure!

Hi @andreswaby, sorry to hear that did not help.

Here is the info I found from Stripe on creating a donation form: How to accept donations through Stripe : Stripe: Help & Support

Now, again I am not sure your exact requirements, it might help to know the exact process workflow that you are trying to achieve when using Webflow for the custom stripe form.

Just to be clear, you are trying to create a form that can be used for donations and you do not want to use Webflow ecommerce, but want to connect the form directly to Stripe and pass a price to Stripe in the form that is dynamic each time, is that correct?

hi @cyberdave ,

thanks for this; however this refers to preset product setups.

the workflow is very straight-forward, i think. end-customer enters desired amount in form and upon hitting submit button that amount is collected and sent to the payment details page where they enter CC/Pay services and checkout.

Stripe Support provided this video however i’m looking for a no-code approach on webflow’s platform.

Hi @andreswaby, at the moment the only no code approach in Webflow is to use the native ecommerce features, but does not work for dynamic product setups at this time, Webflow also requires a preset product setup.

I don’t know if it would work for you, but one possible option would be to pre-setup a product with different price product variants such as $5, $10, $15, $20 etc and set those up so that they can be selected as a “donation level”.

Again, I am not 100% sure on your requirements on that, so it may not be an option yet.

There might also be some things you can do with Foxycart ecommerce which also works in Webflow, see Webflow | Foxy.io

@andreswaby I’m facing the same challenge. Did you manage to solve it somehow?
