Starting youtube videos in Picture in Picture Mode?

Is there a way that you can you can trigger the youtube iframe API to start in picture-in-picture mode?
If you click on the video icon of this my sheet music site you can see how it currently opens to full screen (on mobile). It would be so cool if it would just appear as that little box in the corner.
