I’m trying to upload a new custom font, but the site’s font settings keep showing an error message: ‘Something went wrong. Please try again.’ I’ve tried refreshing the page, logging in and out, and even using a different browser-but no luck so far.
My guess would be an issue with the font file itself, possibly corrupted, too large, or an unsupported font type?
If you can’t identify the issue, best to contact support for systems issues.
1. Check Font File Format:
Webflow supports these formats: .woff (recommended), .woff2,.ttf, .otf Make sure your font file is one of these. Avoid using .zip files — upload the font file itself.
2. File Size:
Fonts larger than 2MB might cause issues. If it’s too large, try:
- Subsetting the font using Font Squirrel or similar tools to reduce size.
- Converting it to .woff or .woff2.
That sounds frustrating—I’ve had similar issues where clearing cache or trying incognito mode solved it.
The issue was resolved after contacting the support team. I deleted the Adobe Fonts token from the Integration tab, and the feature is now working. The problem was caused by a conflict with the Adobe Fonts API token.
I’m facing what sounds like the same issue but I’m not using Adobe Fonts. I have a licensed font already uploaded. When I access settings > font I get the same error message, and then no other nav or buttons work until I refresh the page. Support told me it’s an issue they’re aware of but there’s no timeline for when it’ll be fixed.
Did they provide you any further insight aside from removing the fonts token?
