I’m facing a strange issue with the <select> form fields in Safari (iOS and macOS). When tapping or clicking the select dropdown:
- The field appears squished (not respecting height or padding).
- Instead of showing the dropdown options, it triggers the keyboard — as if it were an input field.
- The same
<select> works fine in Chrome and Firefox.
Is this a known Webflow + Safari issue?
Any reliable workaround to fix this behavior so the select looks and behaves correctly in Safari?

Webflow officially supports the last three major versions of Safari. If you’re experiencing issues with select fields in Safari, first verify you’re using a supported browser version using What’s My Browser.
If you’re using a supported version and still experiencing issues, try these common solutions:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Test the select field in a private/incognito window
- Ensure your Safari settings allow form interactions
- Check if any custom code or interactions might be affecting the select field behavior
If the issue persists in a supported Safari version, you may want to review the select field’s settings in the Webflow Designer, ensuring there are no conflicting interactions or styles applied.
