Rich Text not adopting the body font

Hey Webflow,

I have a portfolio template with a CMS rich text field for the overview of each project. The rich text element is using a serif font (Manrope) but the typography setting is set to Barlow. However, when you view the site in a browser, it shows as a serif font (Manrope). Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

Hi there,

To apply custom typography styles (like Barlow) to a CMS rich text element, you’ll need to temporarily unbind it from the CMS field. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Element settings panel
  2. Under Content, find the connected field (marked with a purple dot)
  3. Click the purple dot and select “Disconnect property”
  4. Apply your desired Barlow typography settings to the rich text element
  5. Reconnect the element to your CMS field using the same Content settings
