Quality of the video is lowered with the lightbox widget

Hi guys,

I just realized that the quality of a Vimeo video is lowered in a Lightbox widget.

It’s on Vimeos’ end. Played on Vimeo and played embed isn’t the same thing, and having a pro account doesn’t solve this. This issue is known to happen with Chrome.

As an experiment because it’s not a solution, try this:

1. Open your Chrome browser and type the following in the URL bar: chrome://flags
2. Then, scroll down until you see the setting “Disable hard-ware
   accelerated video decode.”
3. Look for the button that says “Enable” and click it so that it
   changes to “Disable.”

Now it doens’t happen full screen but that’s not a solution either.

You’ll also notice that audio sync often goes off on Firefox with Vimeo embeds.

Vimeo Staff deleted the two main forum topics where they’d provide answers about this.
