In general, this is always a good practice. It doesn’t (really) matter which one you choose, just that you do choose one or the other.
I can’t speak for Webflow sites specifically, however, wheather you get a lift in SEO is subject to what “authority” or website advice you’re listening to at the time. 
My personal experience is that if there is a lift, it’s negligible.
It’s good stuff to know and should be part of your base website setup checklist.
