Possible Issue with Dell Laptops Causing Jittery Scrolling

Not sure who will find this useful, but I got started with Webflow recently on my Dell laptop (laptop is fairly new in the last year), and I noticed that when I am in designer, the scrolling is jittery…to the point where I didn’t want to continue using Webflow. It was a terrible experience.

Then I opened my workspace on my girlfriend’s laptop and opened my project, and there was no scrolling jitter or lag. She has an HP laptop.

Next, I opened my project on my kid’s laptop, which is a Dell but a different model than mine, and once again, jittery scrolling in design mode and preview were there. Now I am starting to think it is a dell laptop thing.

After trying different things on my Dell laptop, like driver updates, chrome setting changes, making sure my zoom was set to 100%, etc…all was to no avail.

Finally, I went to Best Buy, logged into my Webflow account on a random HP laptop that was on display there, and, again, on an HP laptop, the jittering did NOT happen, so I bought the laptop and have been happy using Webflow.

I tried all the recommendations out there. I almost quit on Webflow. Thanks to a laptop other than Dell, I am very happy with Webflow.

Note* - I have no affiliation with Dell or HP. I just think after seeing the same poor results on two different models of Dell laptop, and seeing good results on two different models of HP laptop, I think there may be a problem with Webflow on a Dell laptop.

Note** - For each laptop I tried, it was in Chrome.

Hello @Ed_Davis, I doubt all Dell laptops have an issue with Webflow, Dell uses Webflow for some of their own sites Dell uses Webflow to bridge the design-development gap | Webflow. I had to deal with Dell issues myself too, but it ended up being a zoom setting. There could be many reasons as to why your Dell laptop didn’t run Webflow smoothly. It could be some obscure user’s settings or even internet connection. I think it is good to document this type of issues though because it could take Webflow users a lot of time trying to figure out issues that are specific to certain laptop’s models/brands or user’s settings.
