Please stop/avoid closing issues!

Is it possible to not lock issues from future comments. Just because something is fixed for someone, doesn’t mean it’s resolved for everyone. If people have additional questions the thread should live on. The lock is not helpful. Thanks.

I basically said the same thing here

but apparently most people don’t agree ?

You can always create a new thread and link to an old discussion for reference/context. The reason why old threads are closed is so ALL the original contributors do not get “pinged” automatically especially if the update doesn’t concern them, or if the thread has been abandoned by the original poster(s). Six months is a very generous time to say that a thread has been abandoned and/or resolved.

You can always ping users directly like this @cjroe in the new thread if you want to shout out to them. Linking to an old topic will also notify the original author of the post by default.

That being said, the entire Wishlist category on the forum is archived for reference purposes only, as we want to be organised and not have duplicate discussions in both places. So please head there to post and discuss wishlisted features, as they are off-topic here.

Read official announcement for Wishlist category closure here: UPDATE: Wishlist is now at wishlist.webflow.com

I think that’s not the best reason to close issues. The issue should be archived, yes, but not closed completely. This blocks future people from asking further clarification questions which continue to model the issue in detail… in essence “making it a better solution”. If it’s closed, the time investment is higher for someone to re-open a new issue, reference the old issue, and get further clarification.

Just saying… Github closes issues and people can still discuss.
