Opaque div is only opaque for half of it

I used a section with a div inside the same size with an opaque color to provide an overlay. I added the content that I wanted, and everything was great, but for some reason halfway through the opaque becomes solid and I cannot for the life of me figure out why

I solved it. I had my section height set to 50vh and the div set to 50vh. Once I added the content that needed to be changed to auto, but I forgot to do that with the section. Seems like 3/4 of ym posts have been about something dumb I did to myself. Sorry for wasting everyones time
