I was wondering if someone could help me with this issue.
When I am in the designer and try to choose a component to add to a page, the message pops up: “Oops! This page has improperly configured forms. Please contact your website administrator to fix this issue.”
I must admit I am a novice and have had help developing the site. I am using Webflow forms and when I test the forms on the page (the site is not live yet), I am getting them to my email address.
Hey Mark, that’s a very usual message, Webflow’s designer alerts generally appear as “toast messages” in the top right, not as Javascript alerts. It suggests something low-level is getting triggered.
I can see it triggering on any component that contains a form, as you hover over it in the left menu and a preview is displayed.
I notice Relume mentioned, it’s possible that something occurred in the copy-paste process in how Relume brings elements in, which affected the form design. But I don’t see anything visible.
I’d try-
Create a regular form block
Turn it into a component
Use the left side components menu to add it to a page- when you hover over it, does it trigger that same error?
If YES, then it’s a Webflow issue and you’ll want to open a support ticket.
If NO, then it’s likely a Relume issue and you’ll need to rebuild those forms in-situ so that the form elements are no longer corrupted.
These specialist components were built for me by a great guy on the Relume Slack channel. The system is designed to make uploading a new web page flexible and fast.
The problem only appeared yesterday yet these components have been ready for months. memetican - you’re right that it only switches on when you hover over a component containing a form (which are by default hidden which I can switch on if I want).
I’m under a bit of (self-imposed) pressure to get this site up. Do you believe that, given the fact that the forms do actually send back information, I should just get the whole thing up and worry about fixing it after? Do you believe the user experience will be unaffected?
Thanks again everyone - when it popped up yesterday, it caused me a lot of worry.
I don’t think it affects the site at all- only the designer experience when adding a new component. You can circumvent it by hitting the ENTER key when the dialog appears, then add the component. Quicksearch should also work to add it since it does not trigger the preview.
