Missing "add field" option in code embed element

Hi,

I’m trying to embed a soundcloud playslist in a User account page. I would like to get the playlist link from the CMS collection and source the playlist link from the CMS collection. I don’t see the “add field” option though. Do I have to change something in my settings?

I also tried a workaround I saw somewhere - I added a rich text field to my collection and tried to input that field into the user account page, but I wasn’t able to input the content for the rich text element so I 'm not sure how that can be made dynamic.

I’m clearly missing something. Suggestions for either option would be super helpful.

The +Add Field option appears when you have something to bind to. Your Embed isn’t inside of a collection list or collection page, so it has no data to connect to.

If you’ve already created your collection list on the page, make sure your embed is inside of it.

Ah, that makes sense…thanks for responding!

I’ll have to figure out some other way to source this field then. Are collections the only way to make the code dynamic? Is there a way to source data from user profiles?

If you can code then yes.
Here’s a tool to extract current user info including custom user fields.

Once it loads that data you could form your links and embed your playlist.
