Lock Mobile Orientation to Portrait

Hi,

Is there a way to lock the mobile orientation to portrait only? I’m working on a portfolio site with a lot of square thumbnails and would rather phones be fixed to a vertical scroll. Thanks in advance!

Dan

Hi @dankanvis, thanks for your question. At the moment it is not possible natively to lock the orientation to portrait.

You might be able to do this using custom code, here is a related article on StackOverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1207008/how-do-i-lock-the-orientation-to-portrait-mode-in-a-iphone-web-application

Another option I’ve seen on portfolio sites is to show an overlay / hide content when device is turned landscape (ref: https://www.aristidebenoist.com)

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the link. I’m going to try this out. I appreciate your help.

Thanks, I’m going to try this too.
