Linking to section - no space between nav+section?

Hello,

I am working on a 1 page scroller, and I’d like to add a small amount of space between the navbar and each section it links to when a nav link is clicked. I’ve tried margins and paddings to no avail, surely there is an easy way though?

For example, click ‘Experience’ on my site, and the section comes up flush with the navbar. I just want a little spacing - shown here with the red arrow:

try removing the top margin of the inner container, then add a top padding for the outer section:
