Link Block Not Connecting to Collection

I am looking to copy the brand directory here with first just starting with the cards part and can get to filtering later. I am working within a template right now (not this one). I created a CMS collection (Brand), a static page /brands where all the cards will be showcased, and then a CMS Collection Template page (Brands Template). I am running into issues on the /brands page when I add the collection (which I linked to the Brands) and then I add a link block which is the issue. Research is telling me that I should click Get URL from Brands in the settings of the link block, which is an option, however there is no current brand or slug option under that. Just none or website link. How do I get the slug of the brand to show up so that it could then drive to a /brand/(inset brands name here) for template?

Also when I add an image, it says no connection found.

Any help on what I am doing wrong would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there!

When working with Collections in Webflow, you can easily link your collection items to their dedicated collection pages. First, ensure you have a Collection list element on your page displaying your items. Then:

  1. In your Collection list, add a link element (like a link block) around the content you want to make clickable
  2. Select the link element and click the gear icon to open Element Settings
  3. Choose the purple “Collection page” link option
  4. Select “Current Item” from the dropdown menu

For connecting images to your collection items, you’ll need to:

  1. Open your Collection settings
  2. Add an Image field to your collection structure if you haven’t already
  3. Upload your images when creating or editing collection items
  4. In your Collection list, select the image element and bind it to your Image field in the Element Settings panel

Hopefully this helps! If you still need assistance, please reply here so somebody from the community can help.

Purple generally means “CMS data binding”.
I think you’re looking for this setting on your link block.

“Current brand” is from the perspective of the collection list, as it iterates through each item it’s rendering.
