Is there a way to load content on right based on selection in nav

Hey all,

I would like to know if its possible to load the content portion of the website within a div while maintaining the state of the left hand side navigation.

what i am trying to achieve is something the above. I dont want to reload the page and maintain left different left nav states for each page.

any documentation/ direction that is helpful, will be much appreciated.
