Image handling with CMS

Working on a CMS site and am wondering about best practice for handling photo sizing. I’m using the “main” post image as a background for both large fullwidth image and in a thumbnail size. Looking at the Webflow blog it looks like the thumbnail images are being pulled from a large image and that’s currently how I have the site I’m working on as well.

Would there be any significant page speed advantage to loading a thumbnail sized image, to use for thumbnails, to the CMS (or at least smaller image say 600X300) in addition to the full sized image?

Hi @jdesign,

I think it depends on situation. In my portfolio site I used smaller (cropped) images for project thumbnails because there is about 5 of them on the page.
If it is only one or two images on the page it may not affect so much.

Cheers,
Anna
