Wondering if anyone can help me out here. I have created this site for a client but can’t seem to get it indexed on google. I’ve signed up to google search console and have manually requested an index but i’m wondering if there’s something on the page that is stopping it?
I have submitted a sitemap even though it’s 1 page. I’ve made sure the robots are not being blocked.
To speed up the search engine indexing process, you’ll need to verify ownership of your site through Google Search Console and submit your sitemap. While Google may eventually find your site through external links, these steps can expedite the process.
First, ensure your site’s auto-generated sitemap is enabled:
Go to your Page settings > SEO settings
Check that the Sitemap indexing toggle is set to “on”
Thanks very much for the reply. It’s only been a few days so hopefully we start seeing it populating on google soon.
Is there anything that would stop it from reading the text on the site? I have text animations on all the text on the site? Is google perhaps not seeing it when it scans the page and thinks there’s no content?
It’s saying the page is indexing but it’s still not showing up on google.
It only appear with site:thisisnotsosecret.com
If i type in any words that in the meta description or on the page it doesn’t return anything for the site.
I don’t see any real content on the page, nothing unique that would stand out as significant keyphrases. I think that’s your first problem, you need real content that connects to the terms people would search. Start there and work backwards.
Second problem is, your site is likely new and unknown. It has no backlinks and very little content, just one page. All of this means it has zero relevance in Google’s eyes. You need to build both the value, through solid content, blog, services pages, and the trustworthiness through backlinks, regular updates, non-AI content. It will take a lot of time investment.
Until then, you could do Google ads if you want.
I don’t see any indexability issues related to your animated text. You can do some checking by doing searches like;
site:thisisnotsosecret.com +"coined the term creative to the power of production"
Google will generally tell you whether it matched or not in the results.
Thanks again for the reply. This is all very helpful.
So i’m seeing a result when you search like you mentioned with the site: and quotes.
If i just searched with quotes and not the site in front say “coined the term creative to the power of production” it doesn’t bring up the site as a result? Should it not as that exact line is on the site?
You’d need to read Google’s docs, and the search patterns change.
In general +"x" means must have exactly this text. It just demonstrates that Google is indexing the content on the page.
Take away the + and quotes and it’s a standard fuzzy search, which Google handles differently.
