How to sync Checkbox responses for 'add-on' feature to cart

Hello, I have a client who has a lot of add-on features. I am trying to figure out a solution for:

Adding checkbox answers to the cart as an individual line of product / update the $$$ amount of the cart.

Were you ever able to find a solution for this? I’m currently working on a similar site for a client.
