Hi! I just played around with my button to update the design but now two buttons on the home page no longer work and take me to a separate web flow page telling me this is an error. (all projects/about me buttons are the ones that don’t work)
What settings should I take a look at in order to reconnect the button and have them go to their respective pages within my domain page?
Hi Nathaniel! Thanks for your help. I tried to look at the nav bar but I couldn’t tell what to change. Attached are the images of the two buttons that do not work on home page and open to a webflow error page. I checked the gear “settings” for each box and they should link to their respective, but not sure why error occurs.
The “about me” button acts as you describe. I selected the button and clicked on the pencil (edit) then in the right hand toolbar click the gear (element settings) and you’ll see it’s linking to CMS under the link block setting section. If you go down to “link block setting” and disconnect the link from CMS and then set it to link to page it works for me. Is that a suitable solution? Hope that fixes your buttons for you. Goodluck!
Hi Aaron! Thank you for your suggestion. I tried this and it made the external page errors go away, but now I am having new trouble. It appears the two buttons are linked together and when I change the page for one, it affects the others (when I change the link block settings).
Sorry I am still learning webflow, but how can I make it so that each button goes to different internal pages.
It’s because you have the button a component with the same class, so if you change the link on one button it’ll change the other buttons to the same link. Try making the buttons without making them a component and give each button a separate class.
I’m no pro at components, but I think you’d want to have each button as it’s own individual component. So an about button component, view our work button component etc.
If you are using Webflow, check if there are any interactions or animations applied to the buttons that might be interfering with their functionality. Adjust or remove any conflicting interactions that might prevent the buttons from functioning properly.
