So, I am wrapping up a project with a great client and everything has gone smoothly. We agreed to a contract in the beginning which was 1 homepage, 3 case studies and a contact page. Now, he wants a different hero section and he wants to know a price. I’ve never charged per design element, so I am not sure what to charge. I don’t necessarily need a price, but I would like to know how you all do it.
An hourly rate and a realistic max time estimate; I then charge the actual worked time. When I exceed the estimate it’s a pity for me. Unless my client changes his wishes during the process of course.
